Marks & Spencer perfectly suited

The Lions are delighted to announce that Marks & Spencer has been selected to be the official supplier of formal wear to the squad.

The deal will see M&S supply formal clothes for the duration of the Lions tour to South Africa and will ensure the team get to and from games in ultimate comfort and style. The contract includes supplying the entire squad which includes players, tour management, coaches and backroom staff.

The M&S menswear team has worked closely with the Lions, advising them on suiting that will perfectly fit their needs. Tony O’Connor, head of menswear design says, “The boys want to look sharp and sophisticated but they also need a suit that’s comfortable and will stand up to rigours of travel. We’ve selected pieces from our brand new Ultimate range which really is the ultimate performance suiting. With crease-free fabrics and added stretch, it does more than just look good.”

The team clothing supplied by M&S includes the new Ultimate suit. The 100% wool suit has a Cooltex lining to help keep players cool in the African heat and water repellent Stormwear finish.  The shirts worn by the team are from the M&S made-to-measure online range and are non iron making them perfect for travel, teamed with the Ultimate tie which is stain resistant so the players will always look slick and stylish.

The first game for the Lions takes place on May 30 against Highveld XV. Richard Price, director of menswear, says; ‘We’re delighted to be dressing the British & Irish Lions, it’s a real honour to be involved with such an elite team. We hope our Ultimate suits will help the team travel in style throughout the tour and wish them the very best of luck for the tournament.”

Marks & Spencer offers the best quality tailoring on the High Street with a stylish and innovative collection which provides something for all occasions at fantastic prices. The range includes smart eveningwear and tuxedos, sharp suiting by Saville Row tailor Timothy Everest as part of the Autograph collection, Essential work wear suits from just £79, relaxed tailoring from the Italian inspired Collezione range and the Ultimate range, as sported by the British & Irish Lions.
