Jones injury worry

Adam Jones has given Wales a fresh injury worry after picking up a back/neck injury.

The British and Irish Lions prop was starring for the Ospreys in their Boxing Day derby against the Scarlets before being forced from the field in the 65th minute.

It was later revealed that Jones, who played in two tests for the Lions against South Africa on the 2009 tour, had suffered a back or neck problem that needed further examination.

“We will find out with Adam,” said Ospreys director of coaching Soctt Johnson.

“He has tweaked something in his back or his neck. Twenty four hours will tell the depth of that.

“Adam did remarkably well when he was on. While we have concerns with him, I don’t think it’s major.

“It’s one of those things you are not sure about.

“He’s never had it before, so he’s not sure. It might be just a twinge, it may not be. You can’t tell with those injuries.

“We’ve gone through the Grey’s Anatomy book and we haven’t come across a diagnosis on that yet.

“But we’ll find out come tomorrow. He’s the best tight-head in Europe.”

Wales kick off their RBS 6 Nations campaign with a trip to Dublin to face Ireland on Sunday February 5 2012.
