Australia star Digby Ioane will return to action on Friday after serving a five-week suspension.
The Queensland Reds flyer was slapped with the ban following a dangerous tackle on Sharks flanker Marcell Coetzee last month.
But he is set to return to action against the Blues to hand the depleted champions a major boost.
"You could say I'm hungry to get on the field. It's been five weeks. I'm just glad it's over. It's been a bit frustrating but you've got to keep busy," said Ioane.
"We've been struggling but I'm just glad to be part of the team again. It's not fun standing and watching.
"It was a big break. It's like I just started a full pre-season. (But) I doubt there will be any rust. I've been playing the game for too long. I'm just glad I'm back."
Ioane reckons his suspension was slightly unfair in comparison to other dangerous tackles in Super Rugby and has called on the competitions governing body for greater consistency.
"It's one of those tackles where things happen but you can't help it," added Ioane.
"I've been analysing other people's tackling and looking at myself. Just judging people's tackles. It's a bit hard, as you can see this year, they are stricter on lifting.
"They don't want to be a bad influence. But you have to be consistent on tackles and technique."
Ioane's long-awaited comeback is also particularly timely for the Wallabies, who welcome Wales for a three Test tour in the summer, and are already sweating on the fitness of Quade Cooper and Digby Ioane.
