George North once again left Jim Mallinder purring as the British & Irish Lions winger helped Northampton Saints to victory over Bath.

Saints helped themselves to six tries in a thrilling 43-25 victory over Bath, North grabbing the final score for Northampton’s sixth straight league win.

But it wasn’t just North’s try-scoring form that caught the eye at Franklin’s Gardens with the Welshman demonstrating his aerial prowess and strike-running as well.

And after a slow start to life in England after moving across from Scarlets, Saints director of rugby Mallinder believes North has well and truly found his feet again.

"George was outstanding," said Mallinder. "After that first ten to 15 minutes he got us going, he got us on the front foot with his carrying, he got us on the front foot with his high balls.

"And just to see his defensive work in the 80th minute to cut them out there, that was excellent too.

"It's taken him a little bit of time, but he showed why he's a world-class player.”
