Cooper set to return

Quade Cooper is set to be recalled to Australia’s starting line-up to face New Zealand.

The maverick fly-half was left out of the opening Bledisloe Cup clash against the All Blacks which the Wallabies lost 27-19 at ANZ Stadium, Sydney.

The Wallabies backline failed to fIre against the world champions but they are set to turn to Cooper to reignite their danger men.

"We certainly need to re-adjust our thinking on our selection," said Australia assistant Tony McGahan.

"Quade was very close to selection last week and he's certainly been discussed so far this week."

The Wallabies have not won at Eden Park for 26 years – their most recent defeat there came in last year's World Cup semi-final defeat again at the hands of the All Blacks.

"We're certainly aware that that sort of record, that sort of history, is in the background.

"It's really about having really good clarity on your issues that you need to address this week and focusing on this as a stand-off match, because it is.

"If we get the result we come back to Brisbane for an opportunity to win the trophy."
