The six-Test Wales international played a remarkable 23 games of 24 in South Africa, the Newport forward scoring a solitary try in a 17-0 win over Pretoria.
Waller played 79 times for Newport, as well as representing Monmouthshire and Somerset. He played all three games of the 1909 Home Nations Championship for Wales and also played against Australia in 1908 and France in 1910.
