One of the heavyweights of last year’s Lions tour to South Africa has made his first move into music.

England prop Andrew Sheridan has released an album which is now available for download on iTunes.

The giant Sale star, who also toured with the Lions in 2005, made the venture after impressing friends with his musical ability.

Sheridan wrote all 16 tracks on the album himself as he showed a softer side than the uncompromising scrummager supporters are used to seeing week in, week out.

The title of Sheridan's album is "Where We Go From Here" and it features songs called "Let it All Go" and "It's Only You".

"I recorded it at a studio in Manchester and when I played it to a few friends, they persuaded me to make it available on iTunes," said Sheridan, who is set to appear for England in next month’s autumn Tests against New Zealand, Australia, Samoa and South Africa.

The album has already been well received, with Sale Sharks media manager and local radio host Dave Swanton admitting to being impressed with Sheridan’s efforts.

"I was pleasantly surprised when I heard the tracks," said Swanton.

"I knew Sherry played the guitar but didn’t know how good he was. Hopefully it will pick up some airplay in the coming months."
