Faletau in line for first run out since Lions series win

British & Irish Lions back rower Toby Faletau could make his playing return this weekend against Edinburgh in the PRO 12, with Newport Gwent Dragons director of rugby Lyn Jones hopeful he will soon be finding his stride once again.

The 22-year-old’s last taste of action came when he played a starring role in the Lions’ decisive 41-15 third Test victory over the Qantas Wallabies in Sydney.

Taking five weeks rest, the No.8 was omitted from the Dragon’s squad for their season opening victory against Ulser.

But named on the bench for Friday’s clash at Edinburgh, Jones was confident the Welsh international would be back to form soon.

“He will be on the field at some stage against Edinburgh without a shadow of a doubt, whether he starts or comes on,” said Jones.

“When you’ve achieved and reached a height, you’ve got to celebrate it, but he needs to pull his socks up now and he knows he’s got a bit of work ahead of him.

“I am sure he is going to rekindle and regain his form very quickly.”
