O’Driscoll suffers just ‘a bang on the neck’

There should be no concerns over Brian O’Driscoll’s fitness insists Leinster head coach Matt O’Connor despite his early exit in their victory over Munster.

O’Driscoll, who played two of the three Tests as the British & Irish Lions emerged victorious from the tour of Australia last summer, left the field just after the hour mark.

However that wasn’t before he played a part in the decisive move of the match, scoring the only try in the 22-18 victory over Munster moments before coming off.

And Leinster head coach Matt O’Connor played down the seriousness of the injury that saw the retiring centre replaced; adamant it was a just minor blow to the neck.

"Brian just got a bang on the neck. He was over the ball and he got his neck twisted, but he'll be fine,” said O’Connor.
