Falling in love at a Lions match

There are plenty of reasons to remember the British & Irish Lions’ series-clinching third Test victory over Australia in 2013 but now, on Valentine’s Day, we have one more.

As Warren Gatland’s charges dished out a 41-16 thrashing to the Wallabies, Rebecca Seery and Harry Johnston sat beside one another and met for the first time.

They shared a hug after the Lions’ triumphant display and, fast forward to the present day, they are now they are engaged.

“I'm from Dublin and Harry's from Shropshire so naturally the Lions is the only time we support the same team,” said Rebecca.

“We hugged each other at the final whistle. I don't know why but we did! It was also an absolutely freezing night in Sydney."

Congratulations Rebecca and Harry and happy Valentine’s Day to British & Irish Lions fans across the world.
